LifeStories for Non-Profits
At LifeStories Alive, we specialize in making that emotional connection through live interviews captured on video.
The Impact
We know your organization is dedicated to important work - perhaps furthering a particular social cause or advocating for a shared point of view. It’s important to connect with your audience in meaningful, emotional ways. Whether the primary purpose is to pull heartstrings or pursestrings, we believe the best way to connect is through a well-produced story.
Our Process
We produce living stories. Our unique interviewing skills bring out the essence of the story originator, and, thus, tell the story in an effective way. Using professionally produced video, the emotional effect is both sensory and long-lasting.
The process of completing a LifeStory video for a non-profit organization is easy, simple and fun. It begins with a pre-interview meeting with the decision makers to explore the "why" of the project. The key people to tell the story are determined and timelines are explored.
At LifeStories Alive, we handle the details for you so the process doesn't interrupt the good work you are doing. Most of the work (and there's a lot of it) is done by the team at LifeStories Alive. This involves pre-interview research, photo scanning, formulating questions, setting up professional video recording equipment, professional video editing and a Director's edit of the early drafts of the video. All you have to do is have a few conversations and then enjoy the results as the finished video is shared across your community.

How much time will this take for us?
We make it simple and easy for you. It’s as few as only two meetings:
A pre-interview meeting (3-4 hours) – Your LifeStories Alive professional will meet to discuss:
The “why” the video is being produced
The “who” you want the video to reach
The call to action you want your audience to take
Gathering photos, documents and mementos that add to the story
Gathering the facts associated with the story
The filming day - An exciting full day of conversations with the stakeholders for the story is filmed with our professional videography team. (NOTE: If additional days for filming or additional filming locations need to be added based on the pre-interview meeting strategic plan, they will be included.)
What about photos and other mementos to include?
Photos and other mementos discussed in the pre-interview meeting that are not already digitized will be digitized by LifeStories Alive.
LifeStories Alive may suggest other assets to include to help make your message as engaging as possible to your target audience.
How long will the finished video be?
One of the items discussed in our initial conversation and fine-tuned at the pre-interview meeting is the desired finished length of the video.
The length of the video will vary based on the medium where it will be viewed and the event associated with the viewing.
Multiple videos of different lengths can be produced to suffice the needs of the client. These varying video lengths have been produced for social media, TV commercials, industry gatherings, in-house training, and other purposes.
Will I have a final say in what’s included in the video?
Our clients will be delivered a first draft (first cut) of the video for review. Most any changes can be made: exclusions and inclusions to that first draft. NOTE: If any additions require an extra day of filming, an additional fee will be added.
Once those changes are made, the client will be delivered a final cut.
How much will it cost?
Our initial conversation will determine the logistics and time required to produce your video. That information determines the price of the project. That price will include the pre-production, production, and post-production elements.
